Digital music uses numbers to represent a form of analog audio waveform, which takes up space. When RIP a CD to our team, we are bringing an exact replica of the CD contents. This means using a lot of space on our hard drives, etc.

The purpose of MP3 is an audio file compressed for ease of portability or transfer. When it comes to MP3 encoding, it is low frequency or hearing "concealment". This is when the MP3 uses psychoacoustics algorithm to remove frequencies that are outside the range of human hearing because humans can not hear anyway. For most people the standard MP3 encoding would be good but for the most sensitive hearing that affect its recognition by the song.

For the discerning music listener, a way to solve this problem would be:

- Song Convert to a wave file

- Put the master output level approx. 1 dB for headroom (so that when converted to MP3 format or no beak trimming, which could lead to a distortion)

- Re-record the audio file

- Convert the audio file back to MP3 (using a rate of 196 bits or more)

This extra step could be very well worth it for better music enjoyment.
