Is it illegal for someone in the passenger seat to see a portable DVD player?
My wife likes to see his portable DVD player and wondering if I could get arrested for having in his passenger seat. I know that standards vary from state to state, but any information would be useful. Thank you.
1. If the air bag goes off, can push the DVD player in it. This would harm her. If you have air bags, then, be on the safe side, make them feel in the back every time you keep the DVD player, whether or not it is on. 2. I once read a law that says it's illegal to have something with a screen video, except for a GPS, operating in the front or anywhere you could see the driver or something. I'm not sure this would be enforced if it was obviously for passengers, but the law seems to say that anywhere in the front and visible to the driver was a violation. To be on the safe side, make them feel in the back when running the DVD player, whether or not you have air bags.
